PV Survey

KB2 have been providing fast, cost-effective engineering reports for leading PV array installers nationwide for several years.

Clients can choose between a site visit or more economical desktop survey, depending on the building under assessment. In fact, we produced the structural reports for one of the largest array installations in the country at Worthy Farm, the home of the Glastonbury Festival. Our reports take in to account the integrity of a structure, loading issues and fixing methods to give providers and installers reliable recommendations.

As most PV arrays are roof mounted only an experienced structural engineer can ensure the correct calculations are being applied for each type of building construction. Not only must the buildings be able to stand the dead load of the arrays themselves, but also imposed loads such as snow, services and increased wind loads.

We can survey and report on buildings nationwide and will check domestic to extensive commercial properties. We can also calculate ballast requirements for arrays on flat roofs and have designed free standing solar canopies.
