KB2 has undertaken a range of residential projects, including flats, volume housing schemes and bespoke private housing. We have particular expertise in structural and civil engineering for disabled access, especially wheelchair lifts.
This four-storey, mid 1970’s building, formerly the headquarters of the Nationwide Building Society, was constructed with a reinforced concrete framed structure, waffle slab floors (except the ground floor) and load-bearing columns with a thick raft foundation.
The project entailed a structural appraisal and design for conversion into residential property with an additional two upper storeys, a first floor mezzanine level and conversion of the basement into a two-storey car park.
