KB2 are providing structural expertise on a site at Stockwood Road. The proposed scheme is to convert and expand an existing office building into residential accommodation. The building can be considered in two parts.
The front section of the building is a five storey concrete framed building. In general this is largely to remain the same structurally. However, KB2 are providing services to justify the existing structure as well as providing design for internal structural modifications.
The rear section of the building is currently a three storey concrete and steel framed hybrid. The ground floor is concrete frame, the first and second floors are steel framed with concrete plank floors. KB2 have designed a new two storey frame that will be added to this section. Calculations and designs have been undertaken to justify/strengthen the existing three storey structure.
