KB2 provides engineering certainty to developers and architects by delivering structural and civil engineering designs that minimise project risk and maximise sustainable construction. KB2's high client retention stands testimony to our practice values and professionalism. KB2 has a broad portfolio with recent projects including residential housing (bespoke homes, apartments and volume housing), education establishments, health-care centres and commercial schemes. We've advised on new-build construction in both public and private sectors, with extensive involvement in project feasibility and investigations and experience of ‘greenfield’ and ‘brownfield’ sites.
Our heritage
Established in 1982, KB2 combines the traditional values of high quality structural and civil engineering services with contemporary design methods and technologies. Formerly Kenneth Brown and Partners, the company adopted the new name, KB2 in 2008 to reflect the significant growth in the size of the practice and associated client portfolio.
Today we provide a blend of maturity, experience and youthful enthusiasm to creatively interpret building requirements and deliver cost-effective, sustainable solutions that make appropriate use of the most up-to-date techniques and materials.
Our philosophy
With clients - our open team-based approach ensures that we work in partnership with the client and other parties involved in the project right from the start. With a breadth of experience to draw on, we can provide a positive contribution to the early stages of a project resulting in a more cost-effective use of resources, efficient design and often an earlier start on site.This partnership continues for the duration of the project and we are proud of our reputation for exceptional teamwork, strong communication and solid project management.
With projects - KB2 is flexible in its approach to the provision of services on a project, either individually or as a ‘team’ member and able to tailor the level of service to suit the client’s requirements and budget. The practice is also able to work within framework agreements or on term appointments where economies of scale can result in further cost savings for the client.
